We can all learn from Seth Godin, not only because he has a great marketing mind but he is a gifted writer with the ability to articulate marketing principles clearly.

In marketing, clarity of thought and words trumps most other strategies you can adopt.

There is incredible power in the orange ball on the left.  Notice how the orange ball itself stands out and draws your eye there.  That's good design.

He could have just said 'Sign Up' and left it alone but instead he tells you what you'll 'get' when you sign up.

Finally, a clear call to action is stated.  'CLICK HERE'  Start looking closely at email copy (or any ad copy for that matter) and you will be amazed at the amount of missing calls to action.  Professionals don't miss this point.
